Quartzite kitchen countertops have several advantages over other types of countertops.

If you are considering new countertops for your Columbus, Ohio home, you know you have two types to choose from: engineered and natural. In the realm of natural stone, most people think only of granite and marble, but here at The Granite Guy, we have another option we believe you’re going to love. We are proud to bring quartzite kitchen countertops to the arena for those who want something a bit more unique, rare, and exotic.

Quartzite Kitchen Countertops in Columbus, Ohio

Quartzite kitchen countertops come in white, which makes them resemble marble. They are far more durable and harder than marble, so you get the best of both worlds. Quartzite is created in nature when sandstone is subjected to extreme pressure and heat due to tectonic plate compression. Since this is not something that has occurred in many places in the world, quartzite is considered rare.

In addition to beauty, you’ll want to choose quartzite kitchen countertops if you want something that is even harder than granite and withstands heat. You should still use a cutting board to avoid damage, and it does need to be resealed regularly to avoid staining, but it is definitely a material that will give you many years of performance and beauty. If you should choose to proceed with quartzite kitchen countertops, we would be happy to further discuss the advantages of this material and tell you about our 15-year sealer that makes this a low-maintenance option for your kitchen renovation.

HIDE
What is quartzite?
Quartzite is a naturally occurring stone that’s often mistaken for marble due to its similar veining patterns and color variations. Quartzite is typically formed when sandstone undergoes the metamorphic process, resulting in a highly durable material that’s ideal for busy kitchen environments.
Is quartzite easy to maintain?

Quartzite is harder than marble, so it’s more resistant to scratches and heat, but it still needs to be sealed regularly to prevent staining. When you rely on our team to install your quartzite kitchen countertops, we will apply a 15-year sealant to help you keep your new materials looking pristine without requiring constant upkeep. All you need to do is clean it with mild soap and water to maintain its beautiful appearance.

Is quartzite more expensive than granite?

Quartzite and marble are both typically priced higher than granite, but this can vary depending on the unique look of the stone slab, the complexity of the installation process, and other factors. If you reach out to our team to learn more about our countertop materials, we can discuss the pros and cons of each material in greater detail to help you find the perfect selection for your aesthetic preferences and budget.

    • ALL PLUMBING must be completely disconnected prior to the installation team's arrival. This includes all plumbing connected to sinks, the removal of faucet(s) and anything water passes through. The granite Guy WILL NOT perform any plumbing work. We recommend having a plumber ready to reconnect all plumbing at least 12 hours (minimum) after installation.

    • Final balance is due upon completion of install. Some installs require a return visit. • Based upon the size and type of material used, brackets may be necessary. The minimum charge for brackets is $100 each and will be used at the discretion of the installer and based on the need to safely support the project.
  • SEAMS

The Granite Guy uses the best technology to make your seams as unnoticeable as possible but no seams are invisible. Seams will be seen and felt. Final seam location is at the discretion of The Granite Guy. Our method in choosing seam locations is two part; do as few seams as possible and be able to transport install your stone as safely as possible. Windows and sunlight make seams more noticeable and seam locations are often required in areas that windows/sunlight are present.

  • NATURE OF STONE AND QUARTZ

Stone countertops are beautiful polished ore leathered finished rocks. Natural variations in the stone are typical and help enhance beauty of the natural product itself. Fissures, pits, voids, dull spots, blow out, textural differences, fill, color variations from slab to slab and thickness variations are not considered defects and will not warrant a remake or discount. Quartz is a man made product but uses natural quartz. Color variation and small inclusions will still be present. Any stone or quartz can scratch and stain under circumstances. The Granite Guy does not warrant against scratches or staining. Return trips to help with scratches, staining, chips or other service calls require a minimum $300 service call. Service calls inside a year from install will be offered a free assessment wither remotely or in person.

Stone is very unpredictable. The Granite Guy takes great care in fabricating and installing your countertops but occassionally reworks may occur. The Granite Guy has a right to remedy the countertops and complete the installation as agreed upon. Remnant purchases will only use remnants for reworks. Slab purchases will use remnants first and slabs if necessary at the discretion of The Granite Guy.

  • FINISH WORK
