What materials are most popular for bathroom countertops?

Common materials include:

  • Granite
  • Marble
  • Quartz
  • Quartzite

The best material depends on your specific needs, so be sure you discuss things like your lifestyle, maintenance capabilities, and budget with our team.

Do bathroom countertops need to be sealed?

Bathroom countertops made from natural stone, such as granite, marble, and quartzite, will need to be sealed periodically to prevent staining and moisture absorption.

How should I clean and maintain my bathroom countertops?

The general guide is to use a mild cleanser and water, scrubbing gently with a soft cloth as needed. Avoid harsh cleaners, as they can damage the surface, especially for natural stone countertops like marble and granite. Regularly wipe your bathroom countertops down to prevent the buildup of residue from toothpaste, hand soap, and makeup, and be sure you invest in regular sealing to prevent moisture damage and staining.

What type of countertop is best for bathrooms with high moisture levels?

Quartz is one of the best options if you are concerned about moisture because it is non-porous.

    • Please be at the template appointment to sign off measurements for production of your countertops.
    • All countertops will need to be cleared to provide laser measurements and all appliances affecting measurements must be on site.
    • Please have all cabinets securely installed in their permanent position and level. After the template, cabinets must not move.
    • Post template amendments or rescheduling of your templating appointment will incur an additional fee of $200.

    • Within 7 days of tempalte and sign off, you will be contacted to schedule your installation appointment.
  • YOUR INSTALLATION APPOINTMENT

    • ALL PLUMBING must be completely disconnected prior to the installation team's arrival. This includes all plumbing connected to sinks, the removal of faucet(s) and anything water passes through. The granite Guy WILL NOT perform any plumbing work. We recommend having a plumber ready to reconnect all plumbing at least 12 hours (minimum) after installation.
    • Time slot 1 appointments will typically arrive between 8am-2pm. Time slot 2 appointments will typically arrive between 12pm-6pm.
    • Stone can be unpredictable, so delays are possible. We do our best to forecast difficult installs, but some delays will be beyond our control. An installation team member will call approximately 30 minutes ahead of their arrival to your home.
    • Final balance is due upon completion of install. Some installs require a return visit. The Granite Guy will work diligently to complete your project, but the final balance is still required after the initial install. If a credit card or debit card was used to make an initial deposit, it will automatically be used again to process the final payment unless a different payment method is provided.
    • Based upon the size and type of material used, brackets may be necessary. The minimum charge for brackets is $100 each and will be used at the discretion of the installer and based on the need to safely support the project.
  • SEAMS

The Granite Guy uses the best technology to make your seams as unnoticeable as possible but no seams are invisible. Seams will be seen and felt. Final seam location is at the discretion of The Granite Guy. Our method in choosing seam locations is two part; do as few seams as possible and be able to transport install your stone as safely as possible. Windows and sunlight make seams more noticeable and seam locations are often required in areas that windows/sunlight are present.

  • NATURE OF STONE AND QUARTZ

Stone countertops are beautiful polished ore leathered finished rocks. Natural variations in the stone are typical and help enhance beauty of the natural product itself. Fissures, pits, voids, dull spots, blow out, textural differences, fill, color variations from slab to slab and thickness variations are not considered defects and will not warrant a remake or discount. Quartz is a man made product but uses natural quartz. Color variation and small inclusions will still be present. Any stone or quartz can scratch and stain under circumstances. The Granite Guy does not warrant against scratches or staining. Return trips to help with scratches, staining, chips or other service calls require a minimum $300 service call. Service calls inside a year from install will be offered a free assessment wither remotely or in person.

  • RIGHT TO REMEDY

Stone is very unpredictable. The Granite Guy takes great care in fabricating and installing your countertops but occassionally reworks may occur. The Granite Guy has a right to remedy the countertops and complete the installation as agreed upon. Remnant purchases will only use remnants for reworks. Slab purchases will use remnants first and slabs if necessary at the discretion of The Granite Guy.

  • FINISH WORK

Occasionally, due to the scope of an install, ‘finish work’ may be required after the coutertop installation. The Granite Guy does not perform finish work. Finish work includes but is not limited to; reinstalling trim that had to be removed to complete install, drywall work due to unavoidable damage from installation, caulking along walls, any electrical work and all plumbing including sink flanges.
